August 16 - Day 63

I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.  And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord. -Psalm 40:1-3

Dean had a full day with therapy like yesterday and became tired shortly after the first session at 9 am. It takes a great amount of energy for him to do the simplest things; nevertheless, he is putting his whole heart into every task. He was taken down for several x-rays this afternoon. Dean felt the sunshine and enjoyed the cool breeze for the first time in 63 days! He relaxed his left arm to the point that it rested on my lap. It was a lovely experience together! We both are outdoors people so I especially feel like a prisoner when I'm locked up inside a building.  Dean and I share so many precious memories hiking through the woods and parks, walking around lakes, watching sunrises and sunsets, having picnics under the tree, skiing at Whitetail, running along Findley Road, riding bikes, gazing at the stars from our backyard, and taking long walks in the moonlight. He really lived life to the fullest and enjoyed all of God's creation! Before going to bed, I saw that he was awake so I gave him a small football and he played with it. He reached for it and held onto it. He began storming some during the night. We thank the Lord for all the progress Dean is making!
