September 15 - Day 93

In my distress, the Lord gave comfort and instruction through these Scriptures. He helped me to put our current trials into perspective. It's our choice to whether we believe and obey His Word in every situation whether great or small.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, for thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. –Romans 8:35-39

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;-Ephesians 6:10-18

Dean lost two more pounds since Wednesday which brings him down to being twenty pounds underweight. There are many factors contributing to his weight loss. Dean has always had a very high metabolism and we’ve expressed our concern about his food intake since the beginning. Last week, Dean’s heart was regulating more normal but the past few days his heart rate has increased. Whenever the heart rate increases, the body burns more calories. He can be lying in bed while his heart is beating as though it were doing aerobics. However, he seems very tired and it seems like something is brewing beneath the surface. His therapy was done in his chair and bed. This evening I gave him a pen and he clicked it over a dozen times. He stormed some but now he is sleeping peacefully. I pray for the Lord’s touch to heal, comfort and strengthen Dean’s weary body.
