September 16 -Day 94

Be glad in the Lord, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart. -Psalm 32:11

Dean was much more alert today during his therapy!  There was something different about him today. He has had a blank stare since July but for the first time I feel like he is really engaging with his eyes! In the morning, we placed him on the tilt table and he tolerated up to 50 degrees. While he was on the tilt table, I layed my head on his pillow and asked him to turn his head towards me. He did!  In the afternoon we sat him on a flat table and he held his head in an upright position for a solid 3 minutes entirely on his own! He did this several more times and then we layed him down for a rest. During his third session, he sat in his wheelchair and the therapist placed his feet in an automatic cycling machine. He tolerated this exercise very well and cycled forwards and backwards for five minutes each. We are planning to move to Quincy Village on Tuesday morning and hopefully home soon afterwards. We give praise to the Lord for the miracles we see every day and the strength He is giving Dean on a dailly basis!
